Well I have been to almost all hill stations in north western himalayas but this is my first review " our 2nd trip to Lansdowne". I have a santro & we normally drive down to one of these resorts every six months. All four of us i.e my wife sudha & my two daughters ( Milan & Arushi ) enjoy the short weekend detours together. We went to this hill station some 5 yrs ago in 2003, read about it in some newspaper while on a pilgrimage tour to haridwar. We decided to explore lansdowne & went fro haridwar- najibabad- kotdwar- lansdowne for a day & came back extremly satisfied.
This time we decided to spend three days together at this peaceful place. we sped off from delhi very early in the morning, crossed the delhi - meerut stretch in an hours time & their after it is much easier to reach bijnore. We took a break at Hotel PALM GREEN at bijnore & enjoyed the breakfast. Parathas, curd pickle etc with good strong coffee, this is a new hotel, run by a retd couple , homely ambience & good clean place with great preparation.
Some three hours later we were at lansdowne, stayed at fairydale resort run by rajasthani chap from jaipur. we stayed for three nights, did nothing except playing various card & board games with my daughters. Evenings were spent having drinks & food , playing antakshri & then a good night sleep under the blankets in the mth of june.
Finally , pack up time came swiftly & we all took deep breaths of fresh mountain air before rolling up the windows & drove towards the plains. We again stopped at HOTEL PALM GREEN at bijnore for lunch, it was awesome.... I recommend this place to everyone travelling on this route.. they really know how to cook...
We were home by six in the evening.........cheers

Delhi---- 60 kms---Meerut-----75kms----Bijnore---40kms---Najibabad----25kms---Kotdawar---45kms---Lansdowne. Time taken depends on your driving skills, speed & time of the day. On an avg it takes 6 hrs.
