I have been an ardent follower of this program since its inception on SAB TV. I have loved each and every episode of this series and have been gorging on it even on its repeat telecasts. This serial is one piece of clean humour which you can enjoy with everyone in your family- even your grandpa. Since Dusshehra this year, Lapataganj is telecasting episodes on Ramlila which my family is enjoying to the hilt.
Mukundilal is enacting Lord Ram and his wife Indumati as Sita in the Ramlila. Biji Pandey is Laxman while Surili’s Mom, the Mausi is the Supnakha and Kakeiyi(double role). Guddu is enacting as Lord Hanuman. All other characters in Lapataganj are enacting as various characters of Ramayana. In every episode, they enact a small scene from the Ramayana, following which they show how we can embibe the teachings from Ramayana in our daily life.
I rate these scenes as the best ones in the Ramlila series:
The background music in the Ramlila is a bhojpari Ram bhajan starting with’Hey Haaaaa’ which gets louder and repeatitive after some dhansu scene in the Ramlila.
Sutti Lal enacting as Janak in the Ramlila gets emotional and brings Jalebi for Indumati everyday in the morning after the Ramlila. He gets senti on Indumati going on Vanvaas and other misfortunes that befall her in the play.
I love to hear Supnakha- the Mausi’s wicked laughter. She uses it to scare people in real life. It sounds more hilarious than horror.

In the mid of the Ramlila, Indumati’s jijaji makins some arbitrary announcement like’Jaihind bartan bhandar ki oar se Lanka Dahan ke chitran ke liye 21 Rs ka puraskar" and then he quietly gets down from the stage and Ramlila resumes.
