Sin City, Las Vegas – A Little Something for Everyone
Located in Southern Nevada, in the West Coast of USA, Las Vegas is truly an oasis in the heart of the Mojave Desert. What started out as Bugsy Siegel’s dream project(the flamingo) is today considered as one of the top entertainment centers of the world.
The video/ slide show illustrates some of the interesting places one can visit in and around Vegas.
Amongst tourists, one can find people from every walk of life here. No matter what your incentive to visit the Sin City, you will definitely find something here for you and yours. Here is my take:
1] If you are single and ready to mingle: ‘Pyaar Ishq aur Mohabbat’– You never know, you could meet the girl of your dreams here and if ‘Haseena Maan Jayegi”, a guy dressed in Elvis costumes may do the honors of conducting the ‘Vivaah’ for you.(Bade Bade sheheron mein aisi choti choti coincidences hoti rahte hain). There are countless wedding chapels here, where all you need to do is to show up with some cash and they’ll take care of the rest of the formalities in a matter of minutes. Heck some of them even provide discounted honeymoon packages.
2] Married but want to be single: ‘Shaadi Karke Phas Gaye Yaar’ - Things not working out – Between you and your spouse, all talks failed – War is the only solution, (err .I mean divorce). No problem, go to Vegas. No separation necessary, just sign the papers and you are done….and then of course since you both will be single, you can go back to step 1.
3] Its all about loving your family(Part I): ‘An Evening in Paris’ –– In some cases, you can skip step 2 and directly proceed to step 3. In which case, there are many hotels, motels, casinos available that can provide accommodations. Depending upon your budget, you can choose any place between Four Seasons to Motel 6(rates are seasonal). If you want a little bit of Europe within Vegas, have dinner at the Eiffel Tower restaurant, and walk by L’arc De Triomphe or you could head south east for a flavor of Italy at the Venetian and you will be transported to the canals of Venice, where you and yours can go on a romantic boat ride. You can wine, dine, and party all night and have ‘Masti’ and ‘Dhoom’ as dessert. There are tons of choices between the ‘Chandni Bars’, clubs and the “adult shows” that would make the Rakhi Sawants and the Nigar Khans blush.
4] Its all about loving your family(Part II) – ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’- Classic family vacation. O.K. So, you are little mature now, and the kids have come along. You can take your family for sight seeing along THE STRIP. ‘Chalte Chalte’, you can stop by at the Pyramids of Egypt close to Luxor, or go to the Excalibur where your kids will have a blast at the fantasy fair. Then there is New York, Las Vegas, the shark reef at the Mandalay Bay, the Lion and Dolphin Habitat, and even an opportunity for indoor skydiving if you are in to it. There are quite a few shows, which can be enjoyed with kids as well…I could continue on…but you get the picture…
5] You don’t care about your looks or your growing belly any more and just want to enjoy the little joys of life such as food: The choices are ‘Ek Se Badkar Ek’. Whether you are into ‘Cheeni Kum’ or ‘Khatta Meetha’ you will find some of the best buffets to satisfy your palate. The chefs are truly “Masters of Spices”. Personally, I liked the food at Rio and Bellagio the best.
6] Apna Sapna Money Money (You want to gamble your heart out): There is plenty of ‘Khel’ to bring out the ‘Baazigar’ in you- Take your pick-Blackjack, Poker, Russian Roulette, Craps, or the good old slot machines. In addition you are served free booze from chicks dressed in outfits that could give Mallika Sherawat a run for her money. Always remember, it all depends on whether you are “Muqaddar Ka Sikander” on that particular day. You could either leave a “Baadshah” or “Faquir”. After all, ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’.
7] You are a high profile business traveler: It all depends on your ‘Corporate’ lifestyle and the ‘Company’ you work for. Waise, ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’ kuch bhi ho sakta hai……….!
8]You truly admire nature in all its forms(Shhh! I know what you are thinking!): The majestic Grand Canyon, one of the natural wonders of the world is just a 3.5 hour drive from Vegas. It is truly a ‘Khoobsoorat’ nazara. On the way to Grand Canyon you can stop by the Hoover Dam, which is considered one of the engineering marvels of US built during the great depression era.
Some Tips: Do bring your walking(dude.) Oh Oh!.I mean shoes along. Keep your “aanken” on your wallets especially “Raat” ko. Unfortunately, in some areas you may find ‘Great Gamblers’ and ‘Sharaabis’ hanging around and you don’t want to be stuck saying ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne’. The temperatures during summer could easily soar up to 120°F, but that’s not the ‘only’ reason / season you could get hot and steamy in Vegas!
