I have been a regular customer of Lawrence & Mayo and recently visited the Adyar, Chennai showroom for getting a pair of frames along with my friend yesterday. I was shocked with the turn of things there.
I was carrying a polybag with me which had a pair of salwars kept inside it. While selecting the frames, I gently kept the polybag on the table next to me. While I was about to leave, I went to the payment counter and realized that I forgot to take the poly-bag with me. I went back to the table and saw it was missing there. I complained about this and the resulting behavior of some of the staff, especially the store manager was very annoying. While most of the staff were helpful and tried to search for the bag, I was really unhappy with how the manager and one of the staff reacted. The store manager rudely offered us to check the cupboards while one of the staff said that he didn’t even see us coming inside the store with the bag! I understand that the polybag and its contents are lost, I would expect the Lawrence and Mayo staff to be more sensitive to its customer. They could have immediately searched even though it was closing time(around 7.30pm) and helped us maintain out trust. I have strong feeling that one of the staff has misplaced the bag and is not willing to tell the truth.
Be very careful with the staff and your belongings there.
Better avoid L&M and go to a trustworthy store.
