I ordered a pair of photo chromatic lenses from Lawrence and Mayo at Camp in Pune, at the cost of almost Rs. 19000. I was shocked to see what I was about to wear a week later when I went to pick up the glasses. Although the frame was the same I was shown, the glasses were nowhere close to what was shown to me by the salesperson. They were way thicker than what I was told they would look like. Although I ordered the best lenses which were from a Japanese manufacturer and I was shown how slim it is going to be, what I was given had no resemblance.
My request for a replacement or refund did not go far but I have learnt a good lesson with this episode. I do not have the kind of time it takes in India to go through legal proceedings (and I am sure they will lead to nowhere – otherwise shops like this should have been out of business many years back).
I would like to request all readers to avoid going to this shop and this brand altogether unless you think you can tolerate this kind of devious behaviour.
