~~Chupp rahiye nautanki~~

We go for pizza and add oregano; we go for burger and need ketchup. Samosa – without the imli chutney doesn’t make one to drool over. Imagine golgappa [paani puri] without the extra punch of chilli. I mean our taste bud always long to relish the added effect.

Now tell me when I am down with fever and my taste had gone for a toss! What could I be doing to put that food down my throat? Almost emptied the pepper bottle on my soup bowl, but I can’t live the entire day only on soup:) So, had to ransack the chatpata [read junk] stock.

I was feeling little better this morning and decided to browse MS [could you believe I didn’t login on MS the entire day yesterday]. Soon felt hungry and picked up the ‘Zero Trans Fats’ – the Lay’s packet. I had Classic Salted one in stock & picked that one. Before even could complete RRC on a review – wham! It is over! Checked the yellow cover once again! Nah! It is actually over. 10 bucks for few potato slices? Remembered the punch-line for Lay’s - no one can eat just one and I think may be they meant ‘One Packet’ but not ‘One Chip’.

A bit of Google-ing and I found Lay’s is the name of the company that founded the chip brand in 1938 and marketed as a division of Frito-Lay.

The shiny pouches catch eye easily in any supermarket or in shops. During journey or watching movies or serving guests or while enjoying chilled FB and above all Lay’s is ideal to be eaten ‘Just Like That’. On biting the chip, one can hear the ‘crraccck’ and then it just melts inside mouth leaving the ‘want more’ feeling. And the ‘crraccck’ feeling makes Lay’s different from the other ones. The varied tastes also made it mandatory to answer ‘whatz the prrogrrmme’.

Over the wide variety of Classic, Tomato, American, Magic Masala, Caribbean – I prefer Classic salt & Tomato ones most. But at time I can’t stop saying what’s there in taste - After-all potato chips! And when it comes to pay part – I must accept, we consumers do pay for the air filled-in during packaging cos the packet is more than half filled with air:D

We have stars like Saifu, Dhoni endorsing the product [may be I find a rationale to even paying the air inside:D]. Whether Saif promoting the with the intent to impress friends and coving the fact of not getting a ticket for the match or he and Dhoni shouting at each other – but as a product Lay’s is just too delicious and can make any one to yell ‘chupp rahiye nautanki’ …

I too bet – no one can eat just one [even when down with fever]………. Any one to take the challenge!

PS: This short & crisp review is for all my co-MSians who can/can’t take the challenge:D
