Prologue: Recently, I came across one review about Mouthshut where the reviewer mentioned some points about writing reviews on the things that are actually non-product categories. Mouthshut being promoted as the site for consumers to come forward and review the products, their usages, their opinions, it would be unfair to write reviews on the things that cant be used. I take this point, but at the same point of time, I think non-product categories are necessary to keep up the interest of the regular BaadBaders and regular readers belonging to the site.
While reading this, suddenly the consumer spirit in me woke up and prompted me to write a review on Lays Potato chips.
Saif Ali Khan advertising for these products by shooting in front of the Opera Theatre @ Sudney, freezing the tourists waiting for the ride to the Statue of Liberty, arguing with his image about lays while a girl is waiting for them @ the beaches of Hawaii and lastly playing pranks with His dad! . These instances constitute recent campaigns of Lays!
I enjoyed the way this product was advertised. Propogating the australian flavor by playing some prank before the Sydney Opera was a great concept and it was taken well .
Popularising the cilantro surprise(I think Australian taste), the America style cream plus onion taste, the Magic Masala from India and the plain potato wafers are the great quality variants offered by Lays Potato Chips.Potato chips. U heard it right. These are potato chips .
I still remember the olden days of feasting on the potato chips aka wafers called popularly. A packet of Rs.5 used to contain 15 to 20 potato wafers offering the unique potato taste.
The innovative bawarchi in me( Im innovative bawarchi. u have read my monaco review.right?) always made use of a few things cooking in my mothers kitchen to change the taste of these wafers. Sometimes, a dip in pudina chutney, sometimes a small tough of melte cheese or amul butter added some thrill to my routine potato wafers.
