Saif - kaif - knife!

An advertisement is supposed to stir interest in the viewers to endorse a product.’No one can east just one.’ is a nice tag line. Choice of Saif is decent. But why Kaif? Just because his name goes rhyming with Saif?

The point I am going to touch upon by CRITISICING this commercial is’Cricketers remain Cricketers and Actors remain actors.’. Oh was that Krish Srikanths’ sentence? No its mine. After all I come from the same state as his. I meant the residing state not his’mental state’.

My friend was an aspiring to be a cricketer and he wanted to represent India. He is still aspiring to be one. I think he will have to aspire for the rest of his life. But Kaif has a chance to show his potential and instil faith in the people whom he is representing on the cricket ground rather than posing for commercials. He is not all that charming. So why try commercials?

Before Kaif entered the international stage, at the domestic level he was outstanding, unbeatable. You wont believe his fielding was a crore times better is what people who have watched him grow as a cricketer have said. Then y this sudden dip at the international level? Is it because of pressure? or of complasence? The former would have been a deterrent at the domestic level itsel. He has passed the litmust test of pressure at that level and here he is playing for the country. He did honestly well till about the Natwest series in 2k2. After that his involment in endorsing commodities has become the fron running job and cricket has gone into the background as a hobby. After the natwest series he has started to endorse Pepsi, Lays, Samsung, Britania, adidas and many more(;-) dont come to my mind).

So whats the point? If he was so interested at acting and he wanted to take it as a hobby he should have stopped with one or two commercials. Y waste his time at things he is no good at? and make the life of viewers miserable! So my final point is Cricketers do wat they are good at and not what actors are good at.

Now turning the bow-arrow at Saif. In the commercial in which he features with Kaif, Saif is tolerable. But the one in which he features with Patodi, his dad, he is dam funny. I dont understand y Saif always is upto showing himself as a cartoon no-sense character on screen. He does that in movies. He repeats that in this Lays add with Patodi and with Preity Zinta.

I think Saif must pose more intelligent in fornt of the camera even if he is not and break this Cliched stuff.

Overall Lays adds are pretty bad except for the tag line ->

’ No one can eat just one’. This is true.

But the add goes like this ->’no one can watch it once more’!
