First of all, hotels name is not Leela Regency. If you look at their business card closely, you would find "Him" written in small letters before Leela and hence the actual name is Him-Leela Regency.
We went there on our way to Leh and stayed for 2 nights. We enquired about them through a travel website where their name was mentioned as "Leela Regency" and we thought that its part of The Leela Group. We had no prior booking and had seen the pic on the travel website which looked good enough. On arriving when they learnt that we do not have prior booking, they grabbed the opportunity and sold us the delux room which costed 3500/night. Next to delux was mini suit and master suit and there were two categories lower than the delux. Since we were quite tired of journey we accepted that.
What deco you would find on travel website is real but ages old. Bedsheets were stained and looked like 20 yrs old. Most of the bed and furniture in room had black fungi and same was the case of toilet cabinets. Room service was non-existent and sheets were never changed in two days despite follow-ups and neither were the rooms cleaned. On complaining that the facilities and room are not worth the money, they said, if we buy the local tout package they would make room rent Rs. 2000. Since the hotel services were already pathetic we did not opt for local travel. Two days were hardly spent and when at departure we asked for bill, they wrote on plain paper and gave us the same. On asking for a valid bill, they said that a proper bill would include Rs.1000 extra. Despite much of arguments they never gave a bill.
This hotel is made to make a fool of people who get their bookings done through travel websites or who verify their credentails through them. Travel websites should be made more foolproof.
