Do Blondes really have more fun?

“Legally Blonde” – PG-13 – New to Video/DVD

Do blondes have more fun, or can they be taken seriously?

The Story:

Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) has her whole life planned out. She is expecting her boyfriend to propose to her and then she will graduate with her fraternity sisters and get married. So when she was out to dinner with her boyfriend, Warner (Matthew Davis) and he breaks up with Elle instead of proposing, her world is upside down! He explains to her that if he is to become a highly known lawyer and someday get into politics that he has to marry a certain kind of woman. Elle was not that kind.

Elle decides that the only way to get Warner back is to become that woman. She studies her hardest and takes the test needed to get into Harvard Law School. She succeeds. But by the time she gets to Harvard, Warner already has another girlfriend, Vivian (Selma Blair). Vivian is from the right kind of family and fits nicely into Warner’s perfect image. Elle makes friends with a local beautician (Jennifer Coolidge) and they come up with a plan to win Warner back. But will her plan backfire?

About the Movie:

Legally Blonde was taken from the novel written by Amanda Brown. Karen McCullah Lutz wrote the screenplay. Robert Luketic did the direction.

Reese Witherspoon did an excellent job in this movie. I honestly did not expect to like it, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was cute and light-hearted. Jennifer Coolidge (Of American Pie fame) was also a huge asset to this film. She played a different type of character then her normal roles. Selma Blair also added something extra to this movie. That did not surprise me. She is a fantastic actress and adds a bit of attitude to all her roles.

Like I stated before, I was surprised to actually like this movie, but I did. It was a feel good movie and it did just that. Perfect for the holidays!

Enjoy!
