Madhurai Shanmughavadivu Subbulakshmi is a great scholar in carnatic music. She was the first musician to be awarded with Bhartha Rathna. Her songs were great hit. Subbulakshmi born in Madhurai, born to mother who is belonged to devadasi community.ignoring that dedicated her whole life to carnatic music. She learned carnatic music from Subramaniyam Iyer.
