A very cool and hip place with lots of people, lots of beer, loud rockin’ music, big plasma televisions, lots of red dressed waiters with one bald person moving around (that is the owner). Legends of Rock as the name suggests is a classic hard rock pub. It’s the one thing that Koramangala really needed: A good pub.

It’s split into two floors with the bottom definitely having the best ambiance. It has a bluish glassy walled look with a decently sized bar and a large plasma TV. The music played includes songs and videos of the greats from the hippie 60s’, through the hazy 70s’ and the bratty, rebellious 80s’.

Those were the years, after all, that shaped the future of music and in effect, the world. If there had been no Hendrix, no Led Zeppelin, no Black Sabbath, no Deep Purple, no Eric Clapton, the world would hardly be as we know it. They play videos of mostly Judan Priest, Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Rammstein, Queens , John Bon Jovi and others in similar genre.

You can request songs to the in house DJ and if he is in a good mood he will play you one very soon . The seating arrangement at the bottom consists of hard sofas and black stone slabs for tables. One can also sit at the bar which can seat about 10 people. The best place to sit would be anywhere facing the TV screen.

The noisy section, as they call it, situated on the lowest level, is where the young can let their hair down and their heads reverberate, but for good reason. And then there is the terrace, which will soon be transformed into a barbeque zone – a concept unlike any in Koramangala, again. Renovation made a new change at the place recently where they have live band shows every Wednesday.

On weekends (not weekdays) a cover charge of Rs. 250/- per head is applicable. Ladies have no cover charges (good for them). A pitcher of chilled beer is 200 rupees while hard liquor is Rs.35/- for 30 ml of regular stuff like Old Monk/Romanov/etc, while 30ml of Smirnoff/Bacardi is Rs.60/-. Cocktails are quite cheap at Rs.150/-. Food is standard Indian/Chinese pub fare, good enough to make decent bites along with the booze. It’s reasonably priced at Rs.80/- for Drums of Heaven and Rs.35/- for French Fries.

It’s chaotic and delayed. It’s hard to get hold of the waiter to order anything. The service is not as rocking as the music and the ambiance. Great music, cheap booze and a good ambiance make this a nice place to hang around. And if you fall into the preys and if LR (that is what I have started calling this place) has you as a fan you can buy goodies from the LR stores like caps, t-shirts and desktop mini guitar showpieces (many others also).

All together a nice place to hang out on many weekends and even weekdays. I go there most of time and for frequent visitors they have an offer too. Just present three times bills over 500 bucks and you can get membership to the Friends of LR club which will fetch you discounts on beverages and live band tickets.

So get ready to ROCK and BURP (of beer)!!! Drink beer save water, listen ROCK and forget everything!!!
