The night was dark (I must confess... am yet to see a night that isnt dark). I hopped into my trusty set of wheels and drove to the nearest watering hole, which happens to be Legends Of Rock. Its Tuesday (not this Tuesday... a couple of Tuesdays back).
A couple of musician amigos were going to play a few tunes on their guitars. Legends of rocks have this radical concept where anyone can play a tune or croon on Tuesdays. They have a small stage where random musicians showcase their skills. Nice!
Nothing like Live Music and a couple of intoxicating tonsil coolers.
The drive is just one kilometer away but Bangalore being Bangalore, it took like 15 minutes in my Scorpio. How people manage to organize 5 lines of vehicles in a single traffic lane is a miracle. Also, how people avoid being piled up on each other in all this mayhem... is remarkable.
So I reached, parked, hopped out, ran up and barged in. The place is pretty decent for a pub - decent ambience, decent crowds, lots of hooch and so on. The DJ was slipping in some nice videos on the wide screen displays that were positioned at strategic locations. I managed to see Eric Clapton play Layla, a couple of Dire Straits tracks, Paul Simons brilliant You Can Call Me Al and so on...
I had to ask the dude at the counter 16 times to get a beer. He was busy mixing some umbrella drink (thats them cocktails with the umbrellas or other fancy garnish that costs you more than the drink itself). I parked my backside on a stool and waited for the darn music to start.
Some tragedy dude was sitting next to me chugging beer and looking like he was ready to cry any minute so I changed seats. The last thing I want on my pants is drool and tears. The videos were real good.
My second beer took 32 minutes to come. Is this arithmetic progression? I turned my head around to see if I could spot people snogging. No, that only happens in public these days - not in a pub. Which reminds me - once on the way back from a gig, I saw a couple making out, on a bike, near a traffic light!!
The dudes armed with guitars went on stage soon. They sang and played for an hour and half. Pretty decent music and a very receptive crowd. Some cool cat even played a great blues solo.
This was cash well spent. The live music made up for the slow hooch delivery.

Notes
------------------------
Legends of Rock is a decent pub with good music, nice videos, decent crowds, hooch and stuff.
Tuesdays rock. Thats when you get to hear some live music. Hit this place on Tuesdays.
Take a poster with you that reads ONE BEER PLEASE! because the bartender doesnt hear all that well. If that fails, make another one called UP YOUR NOSTRIL WITH A RUSTY FORK! GIVE ME A DRINK RIGHT NOW!!!.
If even that fails, complain to... the dude with the shaved head :)
Keep an eye out for the dude with the shaved head. If something is not cool, go tell him... someone will get into trouble ;)
Overall... its a nice place to go to once in a new moon
and yes... dont drink and drive...
What else... nothing more!
