This place is one of our favourite hangouts. Our Rock-Group (STH) has visited this place so often that we call it our shrine. This is one kick A* pub full of people, beer, rock music, big screens and attitude.
As you enter this zone you notice one stone cold moving around instructing his well dressed boys to be fast. The owner seems to be one hell of a Rock-Freak. I really admire his DVD collection although I have serious doubts if it equals mine ;)
The ambience is good. Its not as spacious as Purple Haze in Koramangala but the big screens and the music accompanied by some good beer make up for it. The main pub has a staircase which leads upstairs to the 2nd floor. The latter isn’t all that impressive. The crowd is trendy. Its a very good place to spot drunks all around - at times out of control :). One can listen to some predictable bands like - Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles and Deep Purple (Someone please go beyond these bands...there were many other leaders apart from Mahatma Gandhi and J. Nehru :) Surprisingly I spotted some nut dancing to the tunes of a Judas Priest song. Im sure he was beyond reality then!
The seating arrangement is fairly good. The pub has some cosy sofas and black stone slabs as tables. The bar can accommodate 10 but then who would like to miss the screen? Come Wednesday and one can spot some wannabe rock bands playing their stuff. At times the music is damn good; else one has to tolerate the noise made by these newcomers ;). The most common order is a pitcher of chilled beer (Rs 200). Its not a place where I would like to try hard liquor (Rs.40 for 30 ml). The food isn’t all that impressive. There are exceptions like the Kheema (Rs 90) and the seafood platter (Rs 150) which are value for money.
Its a mess on weekends as the guys are busy serving 100 customers with no clue about the orders. Plus theres a damn cover charge of Rs. 250/- per head. The service is not up to the mark. Secondly this is not a place to go with your parents or wife (especially if shes the Mandir going type).
Theyll get a terrible impression and wonder where this fellow went wrong.
I recommend this place to all you rock-fans. Its a chilled out joint. CHEERS!
