Question - When does someone who doesnt party much go to pubs and Discos?
Answer - When someone else is throwing the party and you aint gotta lighten your wallet! :) Or when youve got a nagging GF whoz adamant that youve gotta take her to some happening place!
And grabbing a similiar chance (the former option to be precise), I ended up in Legends of Rock last saturday! To, (in the new desi lingo) "Rock-On" with some friends..
Now, Me - I dont worship Rock Music, neither do I know much of it or the Legends.. So, I end up at Legends of Rock saturday, feeling a little out of place, but was looking forward for some action and fun..And was pretty much Dead On!
Legends Of Rock, in Koramangala, Bangalore.. Very reachable.. on a very busy road..but you could locate it without much hassles.. So did we, and went up to the reception, where we were asked to shell out 300 bucks per head as a Minimum Bill for entry, Not exactly Entry Fee but ensures you dont Get out Without a sad looking friend at the exit, whoz paying for the Outing! :) The money was replaced with Coupons worth it, and was handed back!
Peeped into the Main Place, and it was Grooving with Heavy Music, Nice Decent enough Crowd Enjoying the Drinks and the Ambiance! Very happening place, and with decent Video screens and powerful and properly audible sound systems, it enables an exciting experience for the Music Lovers! My Rock-Lover Friend was dissapointed after we failed to settle for a place in the main hall, and went upstairs for the Roof-top section!
Settled onto a Six-seater and started off with the usual talks! Ordered a Beer Cannon, some Smirnoff and off with the discussion. Showers of Congrats, what now, and all sorts of talks started pouring! The waiters, wore those weird "I Love Goa" style Hawaiian shirts up there and were faiirly polite.. An interesting 11 seater was there, which was supposedly filled only if theyve got 11 people.. Atleast thats what the Bartender Said..
While enjoying my time, I had a look at the essential virtues of a Pub --
Service - Well Nope, cant praise it much, pretty lame excuses rendered, delayed orders and much fewer people who attend to your call..Pretty Ordinary service, and if you arent much of a music lover, and get bored often, this place wont impress you much!
Ambience - Good, Decent seating arrangement, though the bamboo carved chairs I was sitting on, wasnt the nicest experience ive had, so I rather conceal the details of the after-effects.. Lights were fine and the dim light suited the mood nicely. However, the section was a little too dark, and we could hardly see anything to order from the menu..
Food - Good, not the best youll find, but for pubs the Food was surprisingly good, except for the "Great Indian Platter" which had foul fish in it..That sort of dimmed the impression about the place a little.. But, the main course was fine enough.. So, Food is fine, just stay sharp on the Starters you order..
Drinks - Decent pricing, the usual, nothing much to pry..Though, not much options available in cocktails or mocktails, or the brands of alcohol. We had to change a few things in the order because of that.. Needs some consideration, afterall its a PUB, whatcha gotta offer if not drinks?
Overall - A heavenly place, for Music Lovers, but for the usual folks like me, who just want some fun, this amounts to that wee bit extra.. Paid some 4k for the six of us.. Drinks, Food everything.. So, do your own mathematics now! :)
For a once-in-a-while Visit pretty nice place.. Satisfies, most of your needs, and is a pretty happening place.. Recommended, for Music Lovers, and Party Goers, for the others, guess its a once in a blue moon equation..
The crowd died out at around 11-11:30, time to grab a Meetha-pan downstairs, and after a fulfilling weekend drop-over, we settle on our way back home!
Pssst - Drinking is injurious to health!
