Highest District in India, and Dearest to Heart

I biked my way to delhi from mumbai, since I missed my train to delhi(2nd bout of rains and flood during 30/7/2005). Delhi to Leh was by air, the terrain below was breataking, that I almost dreamt of biking through those too someday(but I had a return flight ticket to delhi). I went on for a River rafting expedition on the Zanskar river which is 2 1/2 days by bus from Leh, before we had a day of sight seeing around Leh. 6 days of river rafting was out of the world, pushed my limits and soaked up some nature too as hoped.

On return I rented a bike from Leh to go to the highest motorable pass in the World(Khardungla Pass 18368 feet above sea level). I saw atleast 30 cyclists doing that 40 km stretch, whcih I coverd in 2 hours on bike(taking pictures along the way). You can see the pictures at https://spaces.msn.com/members/drmura.

A good , not too crowded and commercialised place(Leh town is a bit crowded, but move out and find peace :)
