Sleek & Trendy Lemon iQ - 707

Being a Gadget Freak, I keep on experimenting with all the new gadgets up in the market.

The latest one which I came across is the Sleek & Trendy Lemon iQ-707 mobile phone.

Will every brand which is named after these juicy fruits become famous like its predecessors Apple and Orange? Will the next one would be Jack Fruit? Or Pomegranate?! Time has to answer this!

Coming back where I left, I will segregate this review into different sections to make it “Reader” friendly yet informative.

Package

The handset comes with an attractive box bundled with AC Charger, Headphones, PC Suite, 3.5 MM Converter cable and a data cable.

Build

I am not a great fan of its build. It is perhaps made up of some very cheap plastic which never gives a sturdy feel. However, the handset is really sleek and a stunner by its looks.

Keypads are ergonomically placed. Trackball is smooth to use as well. Left hand side of the handset boasts a hot swappable SD memory card slot which can be expandable upto 8 GB and the right hand side has a earphone cum charger jack. The phone also has a decent inbuilt memory of 25 MB.

Features and Connectivity

As I said earlier, memory is expandable upto 8 GB which can give you lots of space to load whatever you like. The phone can hold upto 3000 contacts giving you the space to store the numbers of any Tom, Dick and Harry. The display is bright and very appealing. Visibility under sunlight is just excellent. UI is smooth to use and has loads of options to scroll from. You can find shortcuts to each and every social networking site viz Twitter, facebook, MSN etc. The phone also boasts EDGE connectivity for some good browsing. Thanks to its inbuilt Opera Mini browser. Addition to that, it also supports some of the very contemporary features like Bluetooth with A2DP, Java, A 3.2 Mega Pixel camera with flash, Business Protect, Music Player, Motion Sensor, Torch and so on. You can change the wallpaper and the music with just a shake and this feature works well.

Multimedia

I have not found any other BlackBerry rip off at this price range(4200/-) having a 3.2 MP camera with flash. Perhaps this is the reason why the company claims that this phone is the “Baap of QWERTY phones”. I too partially agree with the company’s statement. Yes, the camera is really decent. It can produce some great shots in well lit conditions. Music player is pretty basic. Output from the headphones is not really a “WOW” but it is quiet decent as well. I am not sure why the company claims it as a “Music Express” phone because I did not find any feature supporting it. However, these advanced features of these phones make it very different from its contemporaries like Micromax Q5 .

What’s Nice?

Sleek and Stylish

Brilliant UI and Screen Resolution

Decent Camera with flash

Very Affordable

Shortcut to Social Networking apps

Good Battery backup

What’s Bad?

Not sturdy, Very plasticky feel

Camera flash is not powerful enough

Opera Mini’s default version cannot be updated

Very Average Quality Headphones

My Verdict

This handset is a great buy for someone who is tight on budget yet looking for a fully loaded phone with host of features. I would rate it 4 on a scale of 1 to 5 where 5 being the best. On the contrary, this phone’s Pros can certainly over rule its cons.
