Hello, I recently bought the Lenovo G50-80 80E503CMIH laptop from Amazon. The key reason why I purchased this one was because it has powerful specs for the price. And of course, the customer reviews and the fact that it is one of the best sellers on the shopping site backed me to take this decision.This laptop is a mainstream PC that is best for multitasking and everyday use. I use it for web browsing, watching YouTube and sometimes to finish my pending office work at home.The Lenovo G50-80 has a smooth black finish on the top. The plastic build quality is fine and reasonable for the price. It has more of a standard and office like vibe to it. Also, since the laptop is quite sleek, I tend to like and appreciate its design a bit more.The laptop has an island style full-sized numeric keyboard which is flawless to typing. There is no cracking noises or looseness to the keys. I like this keyboard very much. The trackpad could feel a bit different for those who are used to smooth trackpads. It is all about getting used to the new touch and no doubt the trackpad supports all the standard gestures.This laptop has a 5th generation dual core Intel i5 5200U processor with a base clock of 2.2 GHz which can go up to 2.7 GHz on turbo boost. This processor is more than enough to indulge in office work, multitasking, multimedia, and gaming at low and mid range settings. The performance of this processor is similar to that of the i5 4300U processor. It is 15 percent faster than the Core i5-4200U.For gaming, this laptop comes with AMD Radeon R5 M330 GPU with 2GB DDR3 RAM. To be honest, this graphics card is a low-end dedicated graphics card included in the premium range laptops. You cannot play games such as Dragon Age: Inquisition and Assassin’s Creed Unity. This graphics card is suitable for games such as Call of Duty and GTA in 720p or medium settings.Lenovo G50-80 80E503CMIH comes with a 15.6 inch TN GL display with a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels or 720p. So this is not a 1080p or full HD screen. But for the money, one can’t expect to have a full HD screen at this time. Since this is a TN panel, the screen has higher refresh rate which helps in gaming. The quality of the display is more than average. It appears quite faded when there is a lot of light in the room. Other than that I don’t find any flaws or inconsistencies with the screen.
The laptop is not bundled with any operating system; it comes with free DOS. You are free to install any operating system of your liking. This increases the costs but gives you freedom to install O.S of your choice, as there is still debate going on about the Windows 10. It has got a lot of bugs, and many still prefer Windows 7 and Windows 8. I installed Windows 8 on this one.For the first time, laptop took about three mins to boot through, till the login window appears. The next boot was faster and only took a few secs.The extra RAM given in this laptop is another feature that attracted me to buy this laptop. Most probably many users won’t utilize all the RAM, however, 8GB 1600 Mhz RAM does help during multitasking and intense gaming. Furthermore, you can upgrade the RAM up to 16GB if you want which is great.
In terms of Storage, this laptop comes with 1TB HDD which gives a lot of storage space for me to keep HD movies.For connectivity, the laptop has 1 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, RJ 45 and a card reader slot. The inclusion of HDMI port is one of the best things about connectivity. Two USB 3.0 ports could have been better. Other than that there are no problems with connectivity.For wireless connectivity, it has Bluetooth 4.0 and Wifi ( Intel 3160 1×1 AC) . As far as coverage goes, the laptop was able to catch modem signals easily at all rooms in my house. It is said to support faster packet rates up to 433 Mbps.

It prolongs the battery life.The speakers of the laptop are located above the keyboard they are 2 1.5 W Speakers that give crisp sound. This laptop uses Dolby Advanced Audio technology which boosts the sound and also has an interactive panel with sound presets to change the dimension of sound.It is a lightweight laptop, weighs only 2.5 kgs.
