Satisfactory performance for the money paid

After 6yrs and 6 months of usage, it was time for my Samsung R528 to be replaced by an updated, fit-to-the-time laptop.

That led me to make numerous visits to Reliance Digital, Croma store, Ritchie Street (Chennai), Exclusive stores of HP, Dell & Lenovo. Finally I picked up what I thought to be the most fitting replacement - a Lenovo ideapad310

Configuration :

Core i5 7th Gen

Win10 Home OS

4GB DDR4 RAM

2GB NVidia 920MX GEForce Graphics card

1TB Harddisk

15.6 Inch screen

1920 x 1080 Full HD screen

DVD Writer

Platinum Silver color

Price : My beloved Samsung R528 which was still in working condition, helped me manage an exchange + discount of approx 6K. For the configuration which I chose, the MRP was INR 49, 990 and I ended up paying him INR 44, 000.

The only freebie was a decent quality branded Laptop Backpack from Lenovo.

The purchase date is 03.Dec.2016.

It is pretty early to pass a judgement on the performance. However, the laptop speed thus far is only as good my 25months old HP Probook (i5, Win10 Enterprise, 4GB DDR3, 128GB SSD).

Screen quality is still not as great as my Samsung R528.

Pro :

Lighter in weight than R528

Latest processor (yet to test the performance)

2 GB Graphics card

Build quality seems slightly better than the samsung (may be due to the silver accents etc.)

Cons :

Price is still on the higher side is what I feel

Screen resolution

Chrome in this laptop is relatively slower than my HP Probook

Overall :

I feel the product would ve been an excellent Value for Money for approx. INR 45K MRP. I will update the performance details to this thread in the coming weeks\months to enable fellow reader make an informed decision.

Thanks!
