Never buy a Lenovo IdeaPad. The product is so fragile that the hinges break even with careful use. My laptop’s hinges broke within the first four months and Lenovo repaired it under warranty. However, it broke again in the second year after the warranty expired, forcing me to replace the hinges and lid at a cost of 13, 000 INR. There’s no option to just repair the hinges; the whole lid needs replacing. Now, in the third year, the hinges have broken again, and I have to pay for repairs once more. Over a few years, the repair costs will exceed the laptop’s price itself.
I contacted their customer care and even escalated the issue to their escalation desk. One executive admitted over the phone that the device has a known defect but said they couldn’t replace it. They offered a so-called "discounted" price but sent a quotation with standard prices. They say it will take 2 weeks to get the part, but last time it took more than a month. Their customer support is poor and unhelpful, showing little interest in helping a customer who is facing the same issue again after paying for repairs. Think twice before buying any Lenovo products.
