A great Budget gaming laptop

Many of you haven’t seen me around on mouthshut since long, the reason being I was very busy to write smthing or about smthing. but the latest product I brought broke the silence. this is something I sould like to shout about in the middle of a geeky croud. because the lates addition to my gadgets is the new lenovo ideapad Y550 laptop which packs-in features which you might have never heard-of till date at a low price( offcourse, comparitively!) so here I go to give youa glimpse.

I have come to write about the product performance and will give you a glimpse of what this baby has born with.

Looks::

this is a killer killer thing to look at! I mean it is not shiny and metallic finish body! insted it has a matte finish and that guarantees you that it wont ever get scratched by your daily use and hence will never hurt your eyes. it has a design in the lid which form of layer of overlapped hexagons and which is visible only through a certain angle, which is sure to engulf any scratches and render them invisible.and if you can’t see it.it doesn’t exists!

Power:

this rif bundles in a C2D processor T6500 with a frequecy of 2.1 Ghz. which is not at good as the P series but works fine. in fact it is the only department which can be held responcible for any lags in the performance.

RAM:

this is the only system in an affordable price range today which packs in a 4Gb of DDR3 Ram whicle all others stick to the DDR2 pieces. this one has an edge! and has very low responce time even while you have a number of processes on in the background!

Graphics:

the best thing to be mentioned about it is this! packs in with a NVIDIA g130M graphics card of dedicated 512 Mb memory!

I have tried the latest and the best games! this is smooth as hell!

the X-MEN wolverine, Crisis, Time-shift, Prologue, Wheelman and other titles play out on this without a single glitch!

Ratings and marks:

the windows vista experience rating for this machine is 5.0 with the graphics rating 5.9.

the passmark performcance test rates it 640 marks. which I found to be the highest even amongst most desktops and all laptops my friends owe.

Price:

I got it a few days before diwali and it costed me INR 54, 500/-.

this might be huge for some looking to buy low ends but those looking to go for Dell must have a look at this machine.

Additionals worth mentioning:

  1. has a 6-in-1 card reader.

  2. has a desktop navigator panel inthe top just above the keyboard, sliding a finger on which will popup a bottom slider on your desktop which can be customized as per your chice which icons you want to place there.

  3. It packs in a TV tuner card *with good quality *recording feature.

  4. a 3 year warranty which is more than any other piece( others offer 1-2 years most) and that makes up for the additional cost.

  5. a very well designed and placed heat vent on the left side of the laptop which allows you to work fine without it getting too hot!

  6. Remote to operate media center.

  7. Windows vista home premium 64 bit( you will soon get windows seven shipped to you as a freee upgrade from microsoft)

this is it for now guys! well, do search for the specs on the net! it has more than what I have mentioned above!

my suggestion: technical support for this is provided byIBM which is awesome and they are at an instant to help you over the phone while other will never pick up the call.( manier times)

hence consider all this before you buy yourself a laptop that you want to stay with you quite long! I rate it 9/10! have a great time guys!
