Performance Drops Fast Not Worth It in 2024

I have been using the Lenovo Ideapad Y700 for quite some time now, and honestly, the experience has gone from decent to extremely disappointing. When I bought it, I expected a powerful machine because it was marketed as a performance laptop, but in reality, it struggles with even regular tasks now.

The biggest issue is the heating. Even after basic browsing or watching YouTube, the laptop heats up quickly and the fan noise becomes very loud. This not only slows the system but also makes it uncomfortable to use on the lap.

Performance-wise also, the laptop has become sluggish. Apps take time to open, multitasking is not smooth at all, and games that used to run fine earlier now lag heavily. Even simple tasks like switching tabs or opening File Explorer feel delayed.

Battery backup has degraded badly. Initially it used to last 3–4 hours, and now it barely manages 1 hour before needing to charge. And the worst part is the charging speed—it takes too long to recharge.

The display quality is average, and the colors feel washed out over time. The speakers are loud but the clarity has dropped, especially at higher volume levels. The keyboard lighting looks good but some keys have started to feel unresponsive.

Overall, after using this laptop for so long, I can say that it has too many issues to be recommended in 2024. For the price it originally came for, the long-term performance is simply not worth it. Better to consider newer, more stable models rather than investing in a laptop that slows down this quickly.
