The Underrated smartphone !!!

My first review on MouthShut was about my Lenovo laptop and now my second review on my Lenovo smartphone. I love Lenovo products. Lenovo products are going to set a trademark soon in future. Usually everyone prefers Samsung, Nokia and some other brand for smartphone. But instead of going blindly I have chosen “What I Like” & “What I want”.

Lenovo S890 was my first ever smartphone I have ever used before that I was having Nokia Asha 301. There are many reasons why I have chosen Lenovo, I want to write my review very briefly to understand the Lenovo standards. Usually Lenovo smartphone are not bad. They are not popular because of bad or may be poor marketing by them. User should test himself what he wants from a smartphone instead of going with marketing gimmicks.

This phone is a true masterpiece. I should really admit that Lenovo has put its heart and soul in this idea phone S890. The phone is surely the best in the mid-range smartphone segment. The phone beats the likes of Samsung galaxy grand and Sony Xperia L and it has got a stylish premium looks. We also get a magic flip cover with auto wake up & sleep feature.

Talking about this beast performance, the dual core cortex a9 processor runs applications very smoothly on android jelly bean 4.1.2. 1 gb ram takes on any game or application flawlessly. Camera is another major advantage for S890. with Lenovo’s brilliance camera the pictures and videos output have amazing quality. The 5 inch Ips display is not great due to its low resolution of 540x960 pixels(usually Amoled are way better than IPS). With 2250 mah battery I get around a full day with moderate usage. With heavy usage it gives around 15-18 hrs of backup which is common for all android phones. Build looks and metal looking smooth finishing are added advantages for this masterpiece.

Coming to the software section of lenovo smartphones they are not loaded with stock Google android operating system like micromax etc. they have their unique custom android skin with great user interface and good looking rich icons. Have a try with lenovo software you will definitely love it. Finally no one can be perfect at last, similarly this smartphone also had its pros and cons as well, so here is my list.

Pros:

  1. Screen-size is amazing, it has a better looking phone at this price range.

  2. Functioning is smooth for all business functions. Comes with Kingsoft office, which can edit Microsoft office files. Reading emails and replying etc

  3. Amazing battery life(better than Samsung Grand). Though I use 3G and reply to mails etc on the phone, I end the day with 30% - 50% battery.

  4. Dual sim is nice - I use 2 sims and it works well for me. Though it is annoying that the phone asks me which sim to use every time I make a call.

Cons:

  1. Bit Heavier and larger than Samsung Grand.

  2. The IPS display isn’t very obvious.

  3. The most ANNOYING feature in this is – only 4 GB is available to the user of which 2 GB is structured as a USB drive and only 2GB is available to applications.

My experience with lenovo was always fabulous. I suggest you all to buy a smartphone by checking its build and quality that you like in it not with its fake popularity. I wish lenovo will increase its sales, marketing strategy and it should reach their quality to every smartphone user to know its value. S890 is priced around 14000 rupees and worth every penny. Go for it!
