There are better options out there.

A good tablet but not the best from Lenovo. I bought it from Flipkart and it said in the description that the tab features Dolby audio and in reality it does not. It’s a huge disappointment for me since I hate listening to low quality audio. The stock music player in the tab sounds like junk. The previous models in the Lenovo Tab2 series featured Dolby audio and in the same price segment. It makes no sense not including the same feature in the successor tab3 7 Essential. This is in fact a downgrade. Why would anyone want to buy a downgraded product at the same price tag? Anyways, after few months of usage I downloaded Poweramp music player app from Playstore which significantly increased the audio quality. Video playback is not that great too; lags while playing HD videos and doesn’t support many audio and video formats. YouTube supports 720p playback but crashes at times.

On the flip side, there are some pros that I would like to point out. Screen resolution and color quality is good. The design looks good with a blue border though the build quality has a cheap plastic feel to it. Descent viewing angles and smoothly runs several games but slightly lags while playing Shadow Fight 2. The battery backup is really good. It takes 3.5 to 4 hours to charge from 0% to 100% and lasts roughly 8 to 10 hours with continuous usage. If used lightly, it lasts up to two days.

For someone looking for buying a tab in the same price range I would suggest looking into other variants in Lenovo such as Tab3 7 Basic or Tab2 series which has Dolby audio apart from all the other features.
