My brand new LenovoZ2Plus stopped on Day1

I recently made a purchase(Date: 3rd October 2016) during the Diwali Sale offer on Amazon.in for Lenovo Z2 Plus(Black 64GB). Highly impressed by the launch event and after checking out the awesome configuration of the device online.


Thanks to the great rush and huge orders backlog, Amazon took time to deliver my product. By the time I had to leave for my company’s assignment outside India. My wife took the phone delivery. On returning back I opened the box on 9th November 2016, thinking of it as a Diwali gift for myself but to my dismay the mobile device touchscreen was unresponsive most of the time, I could not pick up many important calls due to this issue. Also it was hanging and restarting automatically even after I’d installed the OTA update provided by Lenovo for Z2 Plus.


I immediately reported this to the Amazon customer care, who in turn asked me to get a DOA letter from Lenovo Support Center. I’ve been to the authorized service center on 10th Nov’2016 in Pune where they informed me that as per Lenovo’s policy it’s not possible for them to provide the DOA letter.


I was surprised to see only 7 days return policy for a product purchased online and 90 days if the same product is purchased from a retail outlet.


I was told that I can go for device repair which is not acceptable as I started facing issues in the mobile right out of the box as it was non functional being a faulty device.


After doing all the research & spending my hard earned money I felt cheated and loosing my trust in brand Lenovo on receiving such a device. Never expected that being such a reputed company I would get this kind of a product. It was because of this trust that I told my wife to accept the delivery of the product and I will open it once I return back from my client assignment.


I couldn’t even use it for a single day, even the screen wrapper is intact as I started facing the issue as soon as I took it out of the box and switched it on. The Lenovo India is not listening and asking me to go for repair instead of providing a replacement. I would request you to reconsider your choice before making a purchase of any LENOVO Devices. Beware as customer service is of no use. Go for other devices better options available in the market.
