Good Concept, False Marketing

LensKart may be a good store, but unfortunately their Marketing and sales team only seems to believe in duping the customers. If you trust their offers(be it in or outside their website) then you are in for a toss, because they release coupons only to make fools of their customers.

.

I also found their customer care through live chat to be incompetent

Here is my experience:

When you click their "offer" link at the bottom of their home page(lenskart.com), it gives a pop up with their offers. There is one permanent offer they have there about referring friends.

It clearly states that when your referred friend makes a first purchase you get Rs. 500 voucher, which will be transferred to your account in form of points. These Rs. 500 can be redeemed on purchase of  Rs. 1000. However when I tried that, it did not work.

I checked with the customer care chat, and they had their fix excuses:

Excuse number 1

  1. The offer is not valid on contact lenses

I pointed that it is not mentioned in a single place in the offer page and made them check the offer page themselves.

Then they raised excuse number 2.

  1. The online offers can change at any time

I pointed that this offer has been existing since long, and even if changed it is still there on the website.

They raised excuse number 3.

  1. Instead of voucher you are given points, and points can be redeemed only as 10% of purchase value.

I pointed that the offer no where states that I will get a coupon and that it will be in the form of points the way it was given, but it said those Rs. 500 points can be redeemed against Rs. 1000 purchase.

Ultimately, when I found no satisfactory response, I asked them to send me their reasoning through email and I was told they cannot access email and I need to contact them through email to get a confirmation in email.

This was not the first time such a thing happened. Earlier on my first purchase, I had received a set of coupons, again Rs.500 off on Rs.1000.  Again no where in the coupon did they write about offer not being valid on contact lenses.  They actually had a picture of contact lenses on the coupon.

~ But when I tried to redeem it, I got the similar set of excuses. Back then I thought maybe it was my mistake.

But now I found them nothing else but to be a bunch of frauds who would go to any extent of lying do anything  to make profit.

I wonder how soon it would take them to actually start selling duplicate products for a profit, if they are already capable of cheating the customers.
