I think That French Canadian Diva, Celine Dions Album Lets talk about love has been aptly christened as thats all she keeps on doing. Consider some of the songs:
By the time a romantically inclined listener has finished with her album Im sure he/she would actually start despising love. An excess of anything, aside food can lead to intellectual constipation. Dont get me wrong, Im not for once saying its a bad album, its just that variety is the spice of life, its just that Ms. Dion does not subscribe to that universal concept in this album.
Apart from that, the album is well compiled. Tell Him, a duet with legendary diva, Barbra Streisand is marvelous with beautiful https://lyrics. So is the duet Immortality sung with the BeeGees. The unique vocal skills of BeeGees give this song a sort of a midas touch and it sounds wonderful.
Of course theres My heart will go on from the movie OST Titanic. More than Dion herself, James Horners amazing score really pushes this song above the din. I also liked Dions cover version of When I need you, originally sung by Rod Stewart. Its always refreshing to have a different voice echoing the same wonderful lyrics of landmark songs. I was however disappointed at Pavarottis and Dions futile effort at I hate you then I love you Im sure a legendary tenor of Pavarottis acclaim is capable of loftier things in life. The strings arrangements of amar Haciendo el amor was very lively and sounded great..........too bad I cannot comprehend espanol.
The only song which DOES have a different point of view is Treat her like a lady with Diana King. It sounded to me like a concoction of Rap, Raeggae and Pop, but it sure was a welcome change from the norm.
As Ive mentioned in one of my earlier music reviews, Im essential a rock/pop listener and so Im sure my discerning readers would beg to differ with this review. I feel if you have to spend your hard earned money on Dion, its far worthwhile to opt for All the way. This compilation makes a great Ventines day gift though.....provided your valentine isnt a guy and shes not of a volatile temperament.
PS : For the young-at-heart guys out there...There are some nice, voyueristic pics of the feline Ms. Dion romping on black velvet, inside the CD, guaranteed to raise your heartbeat and pheromone levels ; . Hmmm the things they do to sell albums these days.
