Stay Away!

I relate my experience to help you avoid from the pitfalls of buying products from Letsbuy.com. I ordered a Samsung Laptop from Letsbuy.com on 17-Mar-2012. Before ordering it online I called their Letsbuy to check the availability of the Samsung Laptop to which they confirmed that it was indeed available. One of the other factors for ordering from Letsbuy was they committed that I would receive the Laptop within 4 to max 7 days, as I was to travel out after 10 days and was to carry the Laptop along. After placing the order online, I regularly checked the status of the order on their website, but it never changed, as the moment you place the order the only status it will show is "In Process" and will remain static until the end.


So, I started emailing Letsbuy daily from 19-Mar to check the latest status of the order, BUT never got any reply except the "Automated Reply" that they have received my Query and will respond in 24-48 hours. Those 48 hours never came.


I had then started to call them daily and each time the Customer Service would give the same answer "Sir, your order is In Process" and you will receive it within 7 days from the date you ordered". Even though I argued that the "In Process" status is visible to me also and I needed the "actual status", they didn’t have the slightest of clue on where the order was. They kept saying that I should wait until the end of the 7th day. They would take my request and assure to call-back. BUT, the call never came. To my horror, even on the 7th day, when I called, they said, "to wait until end of the day" even when they knew that they hadn’t even shipped the Laptop. Maybe they were expecting some miracle or act-of-god.


Finally at the 8th day, I called up and since the promised lead time of 7 days had passed, the customer service said that the Samsung Laptop was "Not Available", to which I told them to "Cancel" my order. To my surprise, they willingly cancelled it, BUT then came the true blow. They said that I will receive my money (Refund) back after at-least 21 days.


In today’s connected world it takes 21-secs to make a money-transfer, BUT Letsbuy takes 21-days to Refund. Its terrible and cruel that it takes 21-secs for us customers to pay Letsbuy when placing an order, BUT it takes 21-days for them to Refund it.


If you look more closely, the entire transaction of Letsbuy.com looks like a scam, where Letsbuy keeps your money for exactly 30 days (month) and would earn the interest out of it. You as a customer on the other hand are out-of-money that you could have used to buy the product from elsewhere and are forced to make daily calls to Letsbuy begging for your money and waiting with fingers crossed to get your money back.
