I am someone who likes buying stuff online, simply because I am too lazy to go out and buy stuff, and I have bought stuff online, primarily from eBay, Flipkart and Rediff, and have had a pleasant experience, from all three of these, even in cases where I have had to ask for a refund/exchange.
Tempted by discount coupons I decided to try out Letsbuy.com. However, the mistake I made was that of not checking the reviews for the site. Following are the events that led me to Mouthshut.com
Sunday 1st Jan, 0830 hours, I ordered a wireless mouse, the site said 4-7 working days as the delivery time.
On Thursday, 5th Jan, I called the customer care for shipping details, since the site showed the status as "in process" and was informed that the order was not shipped and was assured that it would reach me within the specified time.
On Friday 6th Jan, I received an email from Letsbuy.com telling me that the product I ordered was selling like "hot cakes" and that my shipment would be delayed.
On Saturday 7th Jan, I called up the Customer care to inquire about the new delivery date, and cancel the order in case of a major delay. I was informed that if I cancelled my order, my money would be refunded in 21 working days, on the other hand I was also assured that the shipment would reach me by Friday, 14th Jan.
I had been debating whether to wait for my order or cancel it, when I reached this site, and discovered that their refund process isn’t that reliable either. I have decided to wait for my order, however, I have vowed never to buy anything from Letsbuy.com. I would also advise people, not to buy items of higher value from Letsbuy.com.
I have had a wonderful experience from other sites like Flipkart.com which delivered me my laptop in under 40 hours. For the record I am based in Pune, and the order was shipped from Delhi.
What is appalling is the fact that there are fake reviews here at Mouthshut.com which shamelessly promote Letsbuy.com. I would like to urge Mouthshut.com to please take down reviews that are clearly fake.
