I was looking to buy a Sony Ericsson SK17i phone and scanned the web for the best prices for an online purchase.
Got the best deal from Letsbuy(which had the lowest MRP on using a coupon+ a free 8GB data card).
So went ahead and ordered on 19th Sept(it was almost 20th as I ordered at 11.56pm on the 19th . ie almost midnight).
Till this time I havent checked for feedback about Letsbuy either from friends or from review sites like Mouthsut. Just after ordering I checked Mouthshut and was taken aback by the number of negative reviews posted on the site. Honestly I got very anxious after reading some of the reviews, but couldnt do much now and was just keeping my fingers crossed.
20th and 21st passed without any update and I was getting uneasy. On 21st evening I called up the customer care to check for the status. I was informed by the customer care that it should be dispatched today itself.
The customer care executive was right and the product was dispatched the same night and picked up by Fedex at around 11pm on the 21st.
I got the delivery on 22nd at around 3pm. So in all it took them 63hours to deliver the product(website mentioned 5-7days).
The shipment was packaged well for its content. However I didnt find the promised free 8GB card. I called up the customer care the same evening and registered my complaint. The customer care executive was courteous he registered my complaint and assured that it should be delivered in some days.
He also said that I will recieve an email about the registration of my complaint soon. I didnt recieve any such mail and hence called the customer care center again on Saturday morning to confirm whether my complaint has been registered or not. The lady on the other side confirmed that there a complaint registered and same should be delievered sometime next week.
Finally recieved the 8GB card on Tuesday afternoon.
So technically my order was deliveredin full" in almost 7 days.
Overall the experience was close to perfect besides the following "areas of improvement"
Cons
1) Such incomplete delieveries should be avoided as it only spoils an otherwise good experience.
2) Status of orders should updated more frequently on the website.
Pros
1) Lowest price among peers+ a freebie
2) Timely delivery(atleast of the main product)
3) The customer care executives were courteous.
For me the delay in shipment of the freebie isnt such big an issue and I would consider Letsbuy again in the future if I get the best price.
