From good to bad and then worst.

I am in a dilemma, how should I review letsbuy.com. I have both good as well as bad experiences with letsbuy. Some of the products that I bought from them were received well in time and in good condition. But I bought a water purifier on 16th October (Order ID LSB-494934) and it was a pleasant surprise when I received a mail by them stating that I was one of the lucky winners selected by them every half an hour, who gets his order free. The email clearly stated that the amount spent by me will be ’refunded’ within a week. I was extremely happy and told about this deal to a lot of my friends (and a lot of them actually bought products from letsbuy after I narrated this experience). I also expected the free gift they promised with every purchase till 31st October.


I received the product within 6-7 days but there were no free gifts as promised. I ignored as the refund of money in itself was a gift. But when another few days passed and I did not get the refund in my account, I called them on 27th and was surprised when the CC executive told me that they are not actually refunding the money, but just giving free coupons of the same amount. It really left a bad taste in my mouth. They have neither mentioned it anywhere in their promotional messages, nor in their terms and conditions that they are not actually refunding the money, but simply giving discount coupons.


Moreover the mail I received after placing the order explicitly stated that I will get the ’refund’ within a week.


And today even after 15 days of placing the order I have received nothing except the product (which was actually in slightly damaged condition, but it was minor damage, so I’d let it go).


They have neither refunded the money in my account (or reimbursed in any manner), nor provided any free gifts as promised by them. I have reached the conclusion that the good services provided by them earlier were only a flash in the pan.


p.s: I received the refund later and I would like to believe that this inconvenience was just an aberration from an otherwise a good e-commerce company.
