Corporate resonse JUST A FACADE.....

Apr 7 2011 - A twist in the tale


The regional Manager(Karnataka, Andhra, Tamil Nadu) of lets buy Mr. Hariharan(that is what he told me - conctact nr 918031900650) calls up and says, the package is empty!? He asks if the mobile was retained by me or by samsung service centre. I had already sent a detailed mail to lets buy, indicating that the mobile handset was kept in the box, alongwith a DEAD ON ARRIVAL certificate authorized by samsung and packed and sealed with a samsung hologram seal.


I told him the question itself was in appropriate as I had already sent a scanned copy of the DOA through an email. Why would someone send an empty box with a DOA alone. I have the intra-india waybill with fed ex tracking number 8768 5534 2179 which clearly says, the package weighs close to 0.5 kg. So how come the package was empty.


Did the courier boy remove the phone, or is it one of lets buy’s own stories for not replacing my phone. I am inclined to believe the latter. Because in the entire 15 days that I had interacted with lets buy, I somehow don’t get the feeling that they are genuinely trying to replace the defective piece.


Let me wait and see what happens, I am totally totally fed up with lets buy.

After so much persuasion, and making close to 10-20 calls, lets buy picked up the package through FED-EX couriers for a replacement. it seems only after 7-10 days I would recieve a replacement.


March 31st 7.30 a.m.


Still no response from let’s buy.


I believe the corporate response is just a facade to fool public and give an impression that lets buy is taking action.

I had written a review about a defective Samsung mobile delivered by lets buy.com a few days back in mouth shut.com. There was immediate response from lets buy stating that "we are always at your service, sorry for the inconvenience etc" and told that they will replace the mobile. It has been almost a week since I got the defective mobile and lets buy is still to send a replacement for me. In their response in mouth shut .com, they had specified that a replacement had been scheduled. But I still to hear anything about the replacement.


In fact lets buy does not respond in a timely manner to any mails or calls that we make to their customer service department, they seem to respond better when there is a review in mouth shut.com.


I have sent all they have asked me to send, but still they have not sent me a replacement. Think about it, I have spent close to 5.5k, got a defective mobile, ran from pillar to post to get a job sheet, DOA, and finally not got any replacement from lets buy.


Timeline: -


22rd March 2012 - Lets buy delivered a defective mobile


22rd March 2012 - Called up customer service to complain


23rd March 2012 - Review on mouth shut .com


23rd March 2012 - Spoke to customer service again and was asked for job sheet and DOA


23rd March 2012 - Got a job sheet from samsung service centre and sent a scanned copy to lets buy


24th March 2012 - Ran from pillar to post to get a DOA


25th March 2012 - Sent a scanned copy to lets buy


26th March 2012 - Finally a complaint was registered by lets buy


27th March 2012 - Followed up with lets buy about the status, not status was specified on the phone. Later in the day got a mail that my issue has been sent to the department concerned.


Would lets buy understand my predicament and try to do something about it.

I went through the corporate response given by lets buy. As per lets buy’s direction, I have submitted my mobile phone to a service centre and got a job sheet from them indicating that it is defective. This has been scanned and sent to lets buy last evening. Since there is no response to my mails to customer service(lets buy) for the past two days and lets buy has responded through mouth shut .com, let me ask this question in this forum itself. Since I have provided whatever is required in a span of 24 hours, when am I likely to receive my replacement.

I placed an order for samsung corby-II s3850 on the 19th march 2012 and received delivery on the 22nd march. As soon as I opened the box and switched on the mobile, I


noticed a small hole in the inner LCD display, which is visible as soon as we switch on the phone. I immediately called lets buy customer service, they asked me to take it to a samsung dealer in my city and get it repaired. My belief is, the mobile should acutally be replaced. But the customer service representative did not tell anything about replacement, he was time and again repeating about repairing the mobile. I have shot out a mail to customer care and waiting with my fingers crossed.
