Let us Buy but only Cash on Delivery

Just been through with the Letsbuy customer service this morning and am really not surprised. In India this area is just for namesake. Wonder why customer service has to exist at all.


Background: Bought an LED LCD monitor from Letsbuy(LSB-1011198). The website has good product range, it has got all the information you need, your order status, how it has been despatched, what is the status of the consignment, the tracking no etc, etc. Full marks for that. But. Read through my ordeal.


I order that monitor as a gift for someone so was keen to get it asap. So the online status on Monday(2nd day of despatch) was that the consignment has arrived at my location i.e. pune. And this is not at the Pune warehouse but at my local Blue Dart(so called partner of letsbuy) office. So I took a 24 hours timeline for delivery, called the no found on the blue dart website to check. But the phone keeps ringing and ringing and ringing and ringing and someone picks it up. This guy is good actually. Tells me that the delivery will not be done today as the delivery boy has left and will be done on Tuesday 100%. That is fine so I wait on Tuesday morning - No sign of delivery. A call during noon time and the same, phone rings and rings and rings and rings and is answered in a rather unpleasant tone(like, why the hell have you called here). So I am told it will be done by evening, and you can take this phone no of the delivery boy. 9x7xxxxxxxx. Anyway this no is switched off so wait wait wait wait and it is 7 PM. Another call and I am told that delivery will be done by 8 PM and wait and wait and wait and at 9 PM the online status says "Department name/extension no not mentioned, unable to deliver". Can you believe this a home address needs a department no and an extension no. A Blatant Lie.


So I call Lets buy, lucky to get conneted as support is only till 9 pm and I speak to TXXXXXXX. This chap is good to find out the details. As per him, there is some technical issue on the blue dart website and hence the status is incorrect. I ask him if he can put forward a request for delivery tomorrow, he says " Mr. Johnson are you online". I say yes I AM. Again "Mr. Johnson are you online" . I say again. Yes I am. A third time and my call is delibrately disconnected. Man, I know you got to go home but you can’t just hang up on my face.


Anyway next day I myself step into the blue dart office and pick my consignment. Back home I check it to find that the power jack is incorrect. So solution, call letsbuy. Was connected to SXXXX, now this lady is "smart" she takes my details, tries to understand my problem(I repeated the issue four times for her) and then asks me to remain on hold and hangs me up 1 min after I have been on hold. So clearly, Letsbuy customer service is just a roadside contact center where they speak like parrots who recite from a book. They do not have a solution for you if things go wrong.


What do I do now, I call LG customer service, though it is very unpleasant to talk to a person who can’t speak properly and also is in a hurry, this guy manages to connect me to a service center. They mention that they will take 24 hours to respond to me. In the meanwhile I manage to get an adapter to fit into the Jack of the power cable. My work done.


However, people beware of what you get on Letsbuy. I may shop with them again but it will always be CASH ON DELIVERY. I also hope that whatever I buy I do not have to speak to the so called support.
