Worst customer service - never buy from Letsbuy

Update on 24th Sept: At 4 PM today, I have received the mobile. This resulted because of some frantic calls to Letsbuy CC. Their logistics team must have pressurized the courier co. to take immediate action. Letsbuy had shipped it very fast, but the courier company(Aramex) ruined my experience. Dear Letsbuy, wake up! Please realise that people will not mind paying 50 Rs extra if you deliver through Bluedart/DTDC or other trusted courier co. It makes a heaven of a difference. Take my case, how delighted I would have been, had I received it in 3 days! Now I have received it after 9 days, but the whole thing has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I would buy from you again in future, but only through COD next time, and only if you do not use Aramex or similarly crappy courier.


Update on 23rd Sept: Still no sign of my mobile. Got a call from Letsbuy promising delivery by today at any cost! Liars! I have lost all hope. Probably I will lose the entire amount as I will leave on a long holiday on Monday. Well done Letsbuy.you have made a solid profit of Rs 5491 without delivering anything as I will never receive it. The courier company is continuously telling lies.sometimes they say my office was closed(what a lie) sometimes they say I have refused to accept the shipment. Can u imagine?> I have paid in advance and then why will I refuse to take it?someone please explain me how this is possible!


today’s Update: Got a cliched response from Letsbuy. The statements of the response are verbatim to their earlier responses to any sort of complaints. They did not even bother to read my mail properly and just gave a generic respone. They have conveniently ignored the specific issues raised by me.


By the way, there is still no communication from Letsbuy or Aramex regarding tentative delivery date. Called CC of Aramex, since last 2 days they are promising to deliver on the same day! Does Letsbuy own up the responsibility of ensuring a smooth delivery? Why do they use such crappy courier companies? Rather charge 100 rupees extra and use reputed companies like Blue Dart. Will keep you updated on latest happenings.

I would like to share my experience till now about dealing with Letsbuy. This was my first purchase and in spite of everybody’s suggestion, I went ahead with Letsbuy and ordered a mobile phone(Samsung Star 2 Duos C6712) on 15th September evening. I paid in advance by Netbanking and my order number was LSB-391333. They accepted receipt of payment and changed the status on their site to "dispatched" on 18th September. And my agony started from here. They provided the details of shipping on their site, which was following: Vendor: Blue Dart and Tracking no: 43781570825


However, please note that I did not receive a single communication(by email, SMS alert, or phone call) from their side about the shipping information.


Agony No. 1


I called up Bluedart, but their customer care told me to my utter surprise that no such AWB No. exists. I became worried and called up Letsbuy CC. The CC Exec informed me that due to some technical snag in their website, shipping info is being displayed incorrectly and they have actually shipped by Aramex Express and Tracking number is 6225313113. It was a big relief for me and little did I know that this happiness would be shortlived.


Agony No. 2


Here starts next part of my struggle. I checked Aramex’s website on 18th sept and it showed the following:


09/18/2011 06:49 PM Shipment Received at Operations Facility


07:42 AM Shipment Forwarded to - Kolkatta Branch


I was again happy. Then the status remained same for 2 days. I again started to worry and followed up with Aramex CC and after 2 phone calls on 20th Sept. Aramex has changed the status of shipment to "Shipment Forwarded to Beyond Delivery Area". Only GOD knows what it means and I am worried that this could mean that they have sent it to some wrong area other than the original destination, Kolkata.


Letsbuy promised to deliver within 3-5 working days, which means they still have 1 working day to deliver. I am keeping my fingers crossed and pray that they succeed to deliver it within 6 working days, if not by 5 days. Any delay beyond that, I will leave on a long holiday on 26th Sept, Monday and no one can receive it at the shipping address. I have no idea what might happen in that case.


I am still not in a position to pass the final verdict on their service. Let’s wait and watch. I will keep you all posted on the happenings as they take place. I hope Letsbuy will not disappoint me in my first transaction with them.


If anybody from Letbsuy is reading this: Please deliver the item to my address before Friday the 23rd Sept. I have given my office address as the shipping address and I won’t be present in office during weekend to receive the shipment. Then I will leave on a long holiday on Monday the 26th. If you don’t deliver by Friday, i.e. 6 working days, it will mean a breach of commitment from your side(your commitment was of 5 woring days) and it may mean a loss of Rs 5391 for me.


By the way, before writing this review in a public blog, I thought of sharing my concern to you internally, by using the Feedback button given on your site. To my dismay, even after successfully trying at least 20 times to enter the Captcha words, system did not accept them and my feedback was never submitted. That forced me to go public with my concern. I would still like to believe that this was just another failure of your website design and that this was not a ploy from your side to prevent customers from providing honest feedback.
