I recently bought a 29" flat screen tv-29FD5RGE. (15 days)
I am very happy with the product quality. I wont give you the feature & specification details as you can get this info on the LG website & mouthshut as well, in laymen language its’ a great product with user friendly features such as xds, xdp, golden eye & auto sound leveler ( I m yet to figure out how it works) compatibility to other gadgets like dvd, music system & home theater is good. It gives sharp picture & clear sound.
I exchanged this tv for my 8 year old 20” SHARP ctv & got 1500/- for it, there was a scheme on this model (videocon dvd player free) for 14990/-. I already have Onida dvd player so I asked the sales rep. to keep the scheme dvd player & give a discount which worked out to 1000/-. I got the tv for 12500/- ( from DAS appliances, Aundh , Pune). An OK deal I guess.
We had gone with a budget of 10000/- for a 21” flat tv, 2.5 k more & we got a 29” flat tv. Isn’t it cool?
The looks of the tv (silver frame & mash with silver one touch buttons) are great. The sales rep told that the min. Viewing distance for a 29 incher is 6 ft but still is becomes strenuous for the eyes. If u put golden eye option on, the colour & contrast goes for a six. With my experience, the ideal Viewing distance is 10 ft. Functionally he remote is good but buttons are hard. It isn’t as powerful as my Philips Mini HIFI Component system.
The remote which came in the packed box dint work at all,
SERVICE IS REALLY SAD.
In spite of calling up the service guys, they took 4 days to come to check the remote. The guy did some soldering etc. To repair remote, it started working but worked for only 5 days. I had to go to the show room to get it replaced (where somebody should have come to replace it.
We are still waiting for someone to come & give a demo (when I called the showroom guys, they reluctantly told me that its very simple to understand the functions etc, why do u want a demo?) Is this u call service?
I do not know weather is it a problem at Lgs end or the showroom guys.
Make sure to buy your product from a dealer who has a good reputation (unfortunately there is no information available on mouthshut
Over all a great product with extremely poor service.
