I worked in Pune for couple of years and there I shared a 3 BHK Flat with two of my friends. We all had our personal laptops for the entertainment purposes but for the sole purpose to enjoy watching cricket matches together we decided to buy a LED TV. Just a small disclosure we always had alcohol to accompany us on weekends along with some freeloaders so we decided to invest in something not that expensive in case if the TV was damaged. We finally locked our choice on LG 32LF550A 32 INCH HD READY and bought it for Rs 19000 from a local Mall.
Now we did see some other options like Toshiba, Micromax and others but LG was the right choice for the simple reason that the Brand name LG wasnt attached to a product of Low Price plus some of the features were not available in other TVs. I liked that with this model I got two HDMI port whereas other TVs of the same range give only one and connecting laptop wasnt a problem. This one had dual feet so it wont wobble the display as much as the single stand ones normally do. Though sound isnt that good but anyways we were going to attach speakers to it. And the best part that it has an IPS panel.
We had a ball watching Blue Ray DVDS and sports matches on this TV and it never gave any issues. I know it works well because back home I have Sony Bravia worth Rs 53, 000 to have an awesome display so until you wanna spend that much this LG HD Ready LED TV at Rs 19000 is a steal.
Now let me discuss about the HD READY PART. To put in simple terms HD Ready has the ability to display a high-definition picture(720p, 1080i or 1080p) but do not have a built-in HD tuner whereas FULL HD has an in built HD tuner and doesnt need an external device to display 1080p resolution.
HD Ready means 720p resolution
Full HD means 1080p resolution
HD READY may appear less sharp only compared to FULL HD but you wont make out the difference unless you are sitting really up close. Even if you are planning to buy for your family this will be a good choice.
