I bought an LG washing machine on a Sunday, but its been 3 days now, and it has not been installed by LG. I want to highlight the part that we all miss when we buy appliances - Service. I had a toss-up between Electrolux, Samsung, and LG. Electrolux now has a machine that has an in-built heater. Samsung and LG were pretty much the same, with Samsung machine having silver nano technology. Build: Samsung was not that good, and seemed to be built with lesser grade steel. Plus the pores in the steel drum were less. Electrolux has an agitator which is ok, but my friends told me clothes get tangled in it. Also, the sealing/welding of the case was not good. Looks: Looks are subjective, but Samsung inlets show on top, which did not look too nice. Ergonomics: Whirpool machine was the best here ... with wheels to move your machine. All machines are light, around 30 kgs and can be moved easily. Motor: Whirlpool scores with a 500W+ motor, while LG and Samsung have around 340 W motor. Price of whirlpool was around 18 grand, while that of LG and samsung was around 15. After negotiating, I got the LG for 14.7. If you are buying an LG product, always look at lgezbuy.com for the prices and then go to the market. You will get a good price ;-) Why did I buy LG? > I didnt like the agitator in whirlpool > LG dealer sold me the service, Samsung dealer told me that service should be routed through them, while LG had a call centre. The machines were almost same on features ... and I fell for LG due to service assurance. And see how I was let down. Its been 3 days and my machine has not yet been installed. Its lying in my drawing room, sitting pretty. So next time you are buying an appliance, check with someone regarding service of teh appliance. Dealers lie through their nose just to sell. Once the product is sold, its the customers headache and phone bills just to ensure its installed and works.
