Their trade name LG stands for “Life’s Good”.
With my experience it is not so.
I purchased 181 Ltrs. Fridge of LG make on 16.10.2006 in exchange offered by your dealer. Now I regret the decision as my old fridge served me for 17 years without any problem and even your dealer told me that the compressor and condition of your fridge is excellent you keep that too. I did not agree as we are only two persons in the family living in Bhopal. Now I feel sorry for my decision.
In brief my problems started after a month or so with new fridge. REPEATED “THUD” SOUND COMING FROM FRIDGE created problems. We tolerated it for some time then I lodged a complaint with your service centre. The Engineer came, checked the fridge and said occasionally it might come for sometime and it will become alright. When this continued I again lodged a complaint. This time I was told that fridge will have to be taken to workshop for one or two days. I agreed. The fridge came back after 8 days that too after lot of reminders. I was told that they did not hear the sound in the workshop and therefore did nothing. The problem persisted but I was ignoring it. Sometime later it increased once again, again a complaint, again Engineer came and advised to change door of freezer. Done on payment basis. No improvement came. In between its thermostat was changed twice. For almost a year we went to Pune to visit my son. Obviously Fridge was shut down. On return we noticed the problem persisted.
Now last two months or so ago I lodged a complaint again. Engineer came and told me that the problem is due to PUFFING DEFECT. When the matter was pursued with your Area Manger it was followed by another visit by Area Service Engineer and Engineer. They come and stayed in the house for listening to the sound. Once it came but not in full volume (low intensity). One of them commented that your house is located in peaceful and calm atmosphere that you notice this sound. Thereafter electricity failed and they went away assuring me that they will get back to me with a offer. As usual nobody contacted me. On my repeated calls Area Manager Mr. Rutav called me and told me that he will replace the Fridge but I will have to pay 45% depreciation (almost Rs. 4000/-) for this.
My question is that why I am being penalized for an apparent manufacturing defect in PUFFING. My only mistake is that I brought LG product in first instance and did not aggressively pursue the complaint during Warranty period and trusted words of your Engineers/ officials. Is it mistake enough to make me pay Rs. 4000/. I am not willing to accept it. Please look into the matter and solve the problem.
