Before buying a product I read mothshut reviews. I wanted a DVD player I read all reviews in mouthshut and I decided on philips dvp642. but the shopkeeper did not have it.
Many people just rush to buy DVD players without knowing the latest formats of DVDs like divx and xvids....i went to buy a philips dvp642 for rs.6500/- and it was not there I got an LG ds9533 for rs.3400/- I am happy I saved Rs.3100/- by buying this player. Its very sleek and slim. it plays divx, dvdrw, mp3, jpeg and many other formats the remote is good. It has dolby and surround but who records DVDs in these formats India has to wait....indian filmakers prefer local masala than quality. I bought this just yesterday so I cant tell much for you now, but I like it, it has a TV control in remote where you can adjust your TV by setting in remote, however it did not work with my old videocon tv, if u have a LG or a latest TV it might work. The player is so light that u can ask ur kid to carry it with one hand. If you need a cd or dvd player for less price and wait to buy an another one after India gets digi techy maybe this is your player, one malaysian bought 10 sets of this player before I purchased this one....
Cons: No volume control on player. Remote can be configured for TV or 5.1 speakers It gets a little heated up after 1 movie maybe thats the way with all players.
