LG Dynamite KG 195 :- I bought this phone in January 2008 as I only had around Rs 4000 to spend.
And with that much money, I got myself a phone with which I thought I would be able to listen to my favourite mp3’s, click a few pics and enjoy the FM too. But the phone was "SURPRISINGLY LOADED :-) " . Within a week after purchasing it , I was installing the various games and softwares (as the phone has JAVA facility) and from Super Mario to Fifa 08 and from Real Player to Google Talk, everything was working !
Now, regarding the performance of its features.
1)mp3 :- Excellent Playback. Playlist can be created easily and song details are easily accessible.
2)Camera :- Captures great quality snaps (also has various in built editing features). Video recording is fast and you can save in 2 formats. (.mov and .3gp). The camera feature adds Value for Money for this priceless phone.
3)FM :- Easy to use, you can save upto 9 different pre-set stations. There is a feature to record FM. (there is also an shedule FM recorder)
4)Voice Recorder: - Supports both .wav and .amr formats. I would give this feature 10 out of 10 as I myself have recorded my long conferences(3-4 hours) with friends and just ended up using only 1-2 mb.
5) Alarm/Calender :- Put upto 3 alarms with your ringtones as the Alarm Tone and browse through dates upto 2030. (jump to date facility
available)
6) Extra Features :- Melody Composer, Calculator, Currency Converter, Unit Converter
7)Health Feature :- Calculate your BMI and Menstrual Cycle
8)Bluetooth :- Works with every bluetooth device, send pics, movies and other files.
9)Security:- Keypad lock, phone lock, set the codes according to your requirements.
10) 60 MB in built memory .(plus mSD card slot upto 2 GB)
Other Features:- Large Phonebook capacity, GPRS, WAP , USB connectivity, Great Fun Games
Looks:- Simple yet Stylish. (colour-black)
Battery Life:- Works for 24 hours(avg usage- 8 hours including calls and songs) after one full charge.
Areas for improvement:- Can store only 200 messages (max), 120 Call Log entries and there is no SEEK function in mp3 playback. Also only 5 tracks can be used as ringtones, and images greater than 100 kb can’t be put as image contacts.
I lost my headphones and had to cough up Rs 500 to buy another pair and that too wait for 30 days before I got them.
Low resale value (due to LG, though I doubt if you would ever think of selling it)
Final Say:- A great buy, save yourself all the extra cash.A Light weight phone with a heavy weight performance.
LG- Life is good, with the phone it indeed will be.
Go for it, cause Simplicity is never going to be out of fashion.
