Well, I can say that the remote control of the TV is complete and one is certainly impressed with its design and ease of handling. Reception and Broadcast: The television has a reception capacity of 100 channels and 2 video mode channels. I believe this is certainly going to satisfy our needs. More so the program tuning is very much user friendly.
The Auto program tuning is a function that automatically and randomly tunes the channels in the order of reception. Such stored channels can be searched using two search modes namely, Turbo search and Normal search. Since Turbo search is a much faster search it is put in to use in times of Manual tuning. The manual tuning program is what offers you a fine tuning option using which you can make the reception quality better. Equipped here is something called a Booster, that’ll actually increase the reception quality when signal is too bad.
The program editing in the Flatron is as simple as that. You have an option of deleting, copying or skipping a program. Well as for the tuning, I would say, the Flatron excels. With some really special features, one can always expect exceptional quality of signal reception from this TV.
Picture: Probably, LG Flatron is the only TV that offers the viewer with the maximum pleasure in terms of viewing. With adjustable contrast, brightness, colour intensity, sharpness and tint, the TV has a Golden Eye. This is a cool option which enables you to enjoy the most suitable picture according to the surroundings.
The picture formatting is also nice. There are two Zoom options with 16:9 and 4:3 magnifications. A Turbo Picture option would boost up the picture reception. What with a flatteringly flat screen, one is ensured of quality picture with simply amazing clarity. I sure have experienced this. There are five sound options in User, Flat, Music, Movie and Speech. Again the Turbo Sound just as in picture, increases the quality of sound two folds.
The TV comes with NICAM ( Near Instantaneous Compounding Audio Multiplex) which is one major reason for the superior sound quality. Say Great! The Stereo and Mono only put in more help in this cause. One is certainly satisfied with the quality of sound the television provides. Atleast I am.
Special Features: The television comes with some really special features to provide one with the right kind of experience. The Automatic AV mode switches automatically to AV mode from the usual mode with the touch of a button. This enables one to watch videos easily. There is a special Child Lock which helps you in locking some channels which you think are not suitable for child-viewing. This proves to be a very naughty feature for me because whenever I pick up a quarrel with my 11 year old younger brother, I lock up Cartoon Network and Nikkelodeon which are his favourite channels.
The Auto Volume Leveller helps you in automatically sets the volume according to the individual sound output of each channel. The Sleep timer is equipped with a programmable Auto Sleep which would enable one to program the sleep function. Also the Blue Back option is available when the TV set is in the standby mode and Screen Tilt enables you to move the screen to the left or to the right just like your PC’s screen.
The most interesting of all functions is the PIP (Picture in Picture). Using this function, one gets the luxury to watch two programs at the same time. Well, you can satisfy the Mega Serial needs of your wife while you watch your cricket too. Of course, it can be the other way around too. What is important is the usage. This really sets it apart from other brands.
