I bought a LG refrigerator with a swanky new name: SFF. The company called it "Semi Frost Free". The purchase was made last year in October.
The refrigerator, apart from the marketing hype, was defective. Water condenses in the inside and it becomes a rainforest. Water keeps dripping on the food and other items. In the first month, we had to throw away milk powder, atta and vegetables because water seeped through the inside. Even when the food was covered, the water condensed inside the containers.
I contacted the LG service centre. At first the person on teh line behaved as if I had never seen a refrigerator in my life. So much for being "customer friendly"!!
After scolding him, he agreed to send a service representative. The fellow told me that the model was actually defective. They had received a lot of complaints and the company had decided to withdraw the SFF models. However, people who had bought them were left high and wet, holding their spolit food.
I wrote to the company then, and as usual, they have not bothered to reply. The company probably thinks that the Indian consumer is not worth listening to.
My advice: if you are thinking of buying a refrigerator, avoid LG. Their marketing hype is good, but the products are bad. Worse, they just dont listen if there are any complaints.
