I bought this about 6 months back for Rs.11990/- and I am absolutely satisfied.Lg generally prices it products at a value for money level and so is this one.Of course if you go to their website this product’s price will be shown as RS.18990/- .wonder why they do it.
It is a 5.1 dvd home theater system.The 2 front speakers are abt 2 feet tall whereas the 2 rear speakers are small ones abt 1/2 ft tall more like pc speakers.The total wattage is 850 RMS which is more than enough to give great sound especially during movie playback.The experience will become truly greater if you play a dvd recorded with good 5.1 sound.It was a totally different experience watching movies with such immersive sound.The experience became all the more greater when watching movies now hd channel.Now I mostly use the home theater while watching hd channels like Movies Now and the recent world cup.
To get 5.1 sound quality from your tv’s hd channels you have to connect the set top box’s optical audio out to the optical input in the dvd home theater. In lg there is a separate option called Aux optical
selector function for this.The connector is not supplied and you to have buy it separately.only a hdmi cable is supplied which will be used while playing back dvds.
Of course it will be ideal to buy a bluray home theatre but prices are more than Rs.25000/-.The standalone blu ray player from lg is priced at Rs.6190/- and I and I am thinking of buying it and connecting it to the dvd home theatre system.of course then the dvd player will become redundant but you cant have it all
