BAD PHONE, DISGUSTING SERVICE

I bought a LG KP 115 mobile on 8th sept 2009. When selling, the shopkeeper said that for any issues I can contact him and if required he will replace it as well. It is a basic phone with mp3 and FM. I could barely use it without any issues for about 20 days. When I am on a call, it freezes suddenly .I am not audible to the caller, however I could hear the caller. The issue started occurring very often after few days and hence I took it to the shop from where I got it as it was closer to my office. They refused to even check the phone and referred me to the service center which is far away.


Since I work during the week days I waited for the weekends. I went to the service center where they did a software update and that didn’t resolve the issue. So they decided to change the mother board. Since the phone was about a month old, I checked with the technician if he can replace it. He assured me saying that by replacing the motherboard everything will work normally. He also confirmed that it is a good phone and has no other known defects. I did not have to wait at the service center to get my phone checked. I was impressed with the prompt and quick service and hence believed whatever the tech said.


The mother board, however was not available right away and he said that he would call me in about 2-3 days and let me know when can I get the phone fixed. Moreover they didn’t even keep the phone at the service center, like other service centers does. Accordingly I got a call and the motherboard was replaced. I had never bought any other LG product before. Seeing the service, I went ahead and bought an LG convection oven. By now the handsfree started giving problem and I got that replaced as well. I did not get a Tawa with the oven so I checked with the service center for the Tawa. They said that except for the glass plate and the ring they don’t keep any other accessories and told me that I wud get that anywhere in the market. I failed to get the tawa. By march or april I had another issue with the phone.they once again did a software update and I again lost my data. I also enquired about the tawa and they had the same answer this time as well. The stores on the other hand refer me to the service center. I had an issue with the hands free within few days during April. Since it was out of warranty they didn’t even checked the handsfree and asked me to buy a new one stating that it could be defective. I bought a new handsfree and everything seems to be working fine except for the caller on the other end doesn’t hear me. Since except that issue I had no other issues, I ignored it for some time until I got another problem with the handset. The phone freezes and restarts often.


It kept doing this for quite some time and one day it started restarting after every minute. I took it to the service center and once again, as usual they updated the software leading to a loss of data. I also addressed the handsfree issue. They said that they will replace it and said that they don’t have the handsfree available at that moment and asked me to come back later. This time, once again, I checked for the tawa and to my utter shock, the receptionist said that it is available at the head office and that she needs to place an order for it. When I told her what she and her colleagues (the techs) informed me before, she says that I should have checked with her.


I didn’t say anything as it seemed useless arguing with them. when checked with the technician they used to tell me to check with the receptionist , and I knew it for sure, from the time I have visited the service center, it is the same lady sitting behind the desk and lying to me. Anyway, after few days when I didn’t hear from them, I called them and went to get the handsfree replaced. They said that the handsfree is not available. When I claimed that I confirmed the availability before coming they handed a used handsfree. I checked it and found that it has the same issue... When reported the techs seemed lost. I suggested that it cud be the connector. They agreed and the tech took the system board out and fiddled with the connector and gave it to me. It worked fine. The caller on the other end cud hear me fine... before I reached home a new problem occurred… one of the earphones quit working, I had to wiggle it to make it work. This happens whether I am listening to music or talking on the phone. The situation worsens after few days. I had to literally hold the handsfree to listen to music. This was painful. I also noticed that the connector is not sitting properly.it is slightly out from its actual place. I once again took it to the center where I realized that the techs were actually fed up seeing me every other day and were actually making faces. They made me wait for quite a long time. Finally when I got to speak to one of the techs he said that he need to replace the connector and that it is not available with them at that time and asked me to come back later. I also asked for a new handsfree as I had wiggled it enough for it to go bad in few days. The tech took my number and said that he would call me after two days. to be precise I talked to him on 21st June and he was supposed to call me on 23rd June to let me know when I can come over. I didn’t hear from them until 28th June hence I called them up and spoke to Sagar who promised that he will arrange for the replacement by Thursday, and asked me to remind him on Wednesday (30th june), I got no response from them when I called on 30th. They didn’t even received my call. Now , I think I have wasted enough time for a RS 2400 phone visiting their service center… and yet the phone doesn’t work. I might have spent more money travelling to the center than the actual cost of the phone. I was initial using it for storing imp phone numbers and data which I lost many times… cos except for backing up the contacts u cant back the other data that’s stored in a phone at the center when the tech tells u to back up ur data… u can possibly sit with a pen and a paper to do that and I don’t have time to do that evertime..…also what about the pics in the phone memory!!!!! THIS IS HORRIBLE SERVICE… A BAD BRAND… BAD PRODUCT My appeal to those who are thinking of buying an LG product wud be …. THINK TWICE…..and consider this feedback….
