Wonderful Touch screen phone!

Must give the guys at LG a pat on their back!! Gr8 job guys...A few days ago, well actually a couple of weeks back, I went hunting for a new phone for myself. Tried the Nokia 5800, E71 and E63....Was very happy with the E71 and eventually went on to buy it.

But wait, theres more to this story...I was unhappy with the Nokia 5800 and was looking at other touchscreen options when I was asked to look at the LG 500. Ok...its nowhere near the Nokia 5800 in terms of features...but then the user interface and touch feedback were amazing...ive used my friends iphone and can surely say this comes closest to it in terms of touch screen friendliness....That was when I decided to buy it for my wife....Shes been using it now and shes extremely happy with it!! So for her its simply an AMAZING phone.....

Talk time is pretty decent...She charges once in two days as she is relatively a light user but I am sure it will last for a day even on regular use. Hope LG will improve this in their next design.Call reception and call quality are very good and speaker volume is really good. The Best part are the widgets and moving them about on the home screen is addictive....And may I add that so far the phone has not crashed or restarted even once...Build quality is excellent for a phone in this price range.

The phone does offer support for office applications but havent tried it yet. FM Radio, Music player, Photo gallery all perform exceedingly well in this amazing phone. For someone used to regular phones for smsing it took her a while to get used to it. But it sure is quite simple and with the built in accelorometer smsing in QWERTY mode in widescreen mode is very easy! Regular portrait mode sms is also there and for some people thats quite enough!!

The Stylus is neatly tucked into the bottom of the screen but you hardly need it for any application. Your fingers are quite sufficient. That speaks volumes of the kind of care LG have put into this User Interface. To sum up, a superb 1st touchscreen phone for the regular user who doesnt require WLAN and 3G. Ionly wish others will soon follow suit and launch phones as attractive as this one. This truly is a cookie to relish!!
