Just purchased an LG 42LN5710 and I am not happy with the picture quality, and all it’s other features. I am also not happy with the sound quality. It sounds like an old radio, somewhat "Tinny", "flat", "Hollow" and I cannot make it any better using the TV’s included sound functions and options. I may have to add a home theater system just to make the unit sound better. The TV is not good quality in every other aspect. Picture quality is very poor, and is the reason I give it 1 stars. Please check the sound and picture before buying.
This one has 3 USB slots, one labelled HDD, and indeed it will format and record to a powered "backup" HDD, but will not format or record to a 32G USB stick(it’s happy to read and play a usb recorded on a$40 set top box, $99 Dick Smith or$150 Kogan TV!). Hence one cannot use usb stick for PVR. On line, other users have expressed same problem s. These limitations are not stated in the(limited) printed manual or almost as limited inbuilt user guide. HDD of course is bulky, and with the side entry of the usb porrt will have cables etc visible on the console the TV is sitting,
