We bought our LG Robogrill Microwave about 10 months ago. The initial price was Rs. 18, 000 but somehow a friend of us fixed the deal for Rs. 15, 000. The microwave has all the features mentioned in the official description, in addition to many other helpful features.
The main advantages -
1-It has menu selection dial which takes over the problem of guessing the right settings.
2-It cooks wonderful chicken and fish dishes 3-It cooks good rice dishes.
4-It bakes(or microwaves)good cakes.
5-It defrosts mutton/ chicken without hassel.
6-It is a perfect mate for reheating cooked food.
7-It is a one touch help to get you hot water for shaving.
8-It awakes cold hard sweets(mithai) and make them fresh .
9-It heats up your cold bed tea in a jiffy.
10-You can get hot pappads instantly.
11-It saves you from constant monitoring of the cooking process.
12-It has rotisserie, which helps you in grilling chicken.
13-Its rotisserie is unique, as it adjusts itself at two different angles to cook chicken or pizza.
14-You can use it as microwave/ OTG /combination cooking where its microwave and OTG combines at different settings to cook a variety of Indian and Continental dishes.
15-You can wrap your cold chappaties(roti) or paratha in paper or polythene bag and get them back as freshly cooked stuff.
16-You can cook excellent soups in no time.
17-You can roast peanuts and cashew-nuts etc. without problem.
18-It has a child lock.
19-As it has combination cooking, it is able to give browning effect to the dishes, to which we are so much accustomed.
It comes with two excellent cookery books. I was lucky to extract a CD containing a demo of many mouth watering dishes.
It has a few limitations-
a) Normally it can cook meals for five persons at a time(but you can re-heat meals or cook rice dishes which are sufficient for 16 persons).
b) You cant use any metal utensile, even cups with gold lining and sweets with silver foil will cause sparks. Only Borosil, paper/polythene bags are used.
c) It is safe for domestic use but you have to keep everybody at a distance of two feet to stay away from residual radiations
d) Its clock and cooking settings vanish with each power failure. I wish the future models will take care of this problem.
e) It is not practical to cook vegetarian or mutton dishes(although we successfully prepared mutton kathi-rolls as per cookery book).
f) Most of the dishes are result of several trial and error attempts. A little change in quantity of water will affect the final product. As such you cannot easily create new dishes(but the cookery books contain a large variety of veg/non-veg and Indian/Continental dishes to save you from such botheration).
LGs models without grill are cheaper and more practical. You can easily get them around Rs. 7, 800 or Rs. 8, 000.
