I had 2 things in mind while choosing a phone, one, performance, two, I wanted a phone that would last at least 2 years, in terms of features and of course, upto date OS.
performance is top notch given that this beast has only 2 gigs of RAM. But I have never experienced lag or sluggishness, since there is a snapdragon 808 under the hood which runs cooler than the 810 . my device did reach 45 degrees when pushed to the extreme, I.e, while playing games like asphalt 8 in high settings which demands lot of GPU rendering and CPU load.
I’m confident that Google will keep this device updated with the latest version of Android for the next two years at least .
Camera is probably one of the best in the market. Takes good snaps. Sound output is okay on external speakers, But very good when you connect earphones.
Fingerprint scanner in this phone is a nice addition to the overall package.It is really fast, accurate and reliable.The 5x’s fingerprint scanner would probably compete with the ones on most flagship phones in the market.
Phone charges very quickly. Just takes an hour to charge from 0-100, Which saves a lot of time .battery easily lasts a day on moderate usage( calls, gaming for an hour) . The Doze feature comes into the picture while the phone is idle., improving battery life.
Storage is the only concern since there’s no expandable memory. You get around 10.7 GB out of 16 GB which is a slight letdown.
Overall, a nice package. I’m happy with this phone.
