Recently I needed to buy a "good" ctv. my plans were to have a 21" sonyctv. I am a diehard sony fan. after selecting a model I just decided totake a look at some other brands... just for fun.. but this LG Flatron RT-29FC80VE 29inch Flat TVlooked extremely good. the picture quality at the showroom appeared toparallel that of the sony 21" ctv that I looked at. its price was only2k more than the sony’s counterpart. sound is okay.. simply cantcompare to that of the sony make. but sound is quiet decent too.
thegolden eye technology it gives is a horror tale to be honest. its quietterrible.. it only darkens the picture and the quality dramaticallydrops. I never turn on that feature. but the picture quality lookedvery good. certainly a lot better that the samsung’s counterpart (inthe same price range). you can watch it even within a distance of 4ftand still you get superb picture quality provided you have got a decentcable signal. however, the picture quality is NOT all that great as itnormally appears. as I watched the fifa world cup 2006’s first match, the shortcomings (of pic quality) became very evident. for the costarica guys, the color of their jersey’s were following them.. whenviewed from the tower camera... upclose.. it was REAL good. thatdampened the spirits a bit.. there were no such problem with the sonyctv. but the good news is that I rarely see football or sports.. formovies and others you will not get this disturbing experience...
overallthough, its a good deal to get this baby for something just under19.5K. the pic quality it gives at that price is simply unbelievable.
another thing I forgot to mention:
then I tried to get the sound output to my music system.. oops! guess what... no such facility... only one point is given for a headphone... I had to interface my music system through that :( .. gosche.. its sound quality is not that good that the maker should think about not providing any such facility
