LG washing machines: horrible after sales service

I own a LG Front Loading washing machine(TROMM); purchased less than 2 years back. So, it is still under warranty. And, about a year back, I was sweet-talked into buying a 3 years extended service by the technician who came home to fix a minor problem.


My problem started on 30th August, 2010. The washing machine stopped working. So, I called LG on their helpline and registered a complaint on 31st August, 2010.  Complaint No C1083117218. I was assured a technician visit within 24 hours. Which finally happened, but 5 days later.


The technician finally came, saw the machine, pronounced a faulty motor as culprit and left. It has been 5 days since then. We are waiting.


So, finally I called th helpline today; “oh, yes, we have all your records; motor faulty, needs replacement. We don’t have the parts”. When will you repair it? “Oh, we do not know; when we get the parts”. Surely, you know when the parts will be available? “No; but here’s an escalation number 011- 430 12561; call them and your problem will be addressed. I call; and of course, what do you expect? The same story, “parts not available; don’t know when parts will be available.” Can I talk to someone who has a better idea about parts availability? Yes, talk to my manaager, R S Dawar. His mobile number is 9582555 4xx. I call, and of course, he does not even pick up the call.


So I am waiting. With a monster occupying space in a corner of my bathroom. Useless company; LG Electronics. Useless after sales service.


Why can’t the company that pursuaded me to part with advance payment for a total of 5 years comprehensive service guarantee, even extend me the courtesy of letting me know when they expect the parts to be able to repair my machine?
